Gene Wilder Willy Wonka Costume

Gene Wilder was a fantastic Willy Wonka, and I think that a Gene Wilder Willy Wonka costume would be amazing for Halloween.  The good news is that there are several options - you can buy the entire costume, or you can buy the individual pieces and put them together for yourself.

If you give yourself enough time before Halloween, then you should be prepared and ready to go for your Halloween festivities!

1. Time - You'll need to start researching the buying the items a few weeks or a month before Halloween.

 He wore a brown top hat in the movie, so that's ideally the one you'd want.  Luckily, these are pretty inexpensive plus they're a must-have accessory for this costume.

3. A purple suit
Most men don't own one of these already, so you'll probably need to pick one up.  Look at it this way, you'll always have a ready-to-go costume if you own the purple suit.   And while you won't be able to wear this to weddings or other events, it's nice to have a back-up costume in the closet.
